Dimitris Droutsas is currently Head of the Diplomatic Cabinet of PASOK’s President George Papandreou. He was a Special Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, in charge of EU affairs, Cyprus and Turkey between 1999 to 2004. He served as Legal Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Austria, Mr. Wolfgang Schüssel (1998 – 1999). In 1994, he became Assistant Professor of EU Law at the Research Institute for European Affairs at Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. He has studied Law and Economics at the University of Vienna, Austria and has numerous book and journal publications on EC/EU Law, WTO, foreign policy and security issues. He was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1968 and speaks Greek, German, English, French and Russian.
