Herakles Polemarchakis is Professor of Economics at Brown University and an Economic Adviser of George Papandreou. Prior to Brown, he taught Economics at the Catholique University of Louvain, France (1990 – 2000) the Columbia School of Business (1992 – 1990), and Columbia Department of Economics (1978 – 1982).

Mr. Polemarchakis is a fellow at the European Economic Association, a Co – Editor, Berkeley Electronic Journal of Theoretical Economics and a member of the advisory board for Annals of Finance. He is a fellow at the Econometric Society and Co-editor at the Journal of Mathematical Economics.

Mr. Polemarchackis was born in Athens, 1952. He studied Economics and Mathematics at Yale (BA, 1973) and earned his PhD in Economics from Harvard University (1978).
